Annabelle had an interesting night at the hotel, including most informative conversations with the scallywags in the bar.

In the morning, however, her main priority is breakfast. Annabelle is looking intently at the menu and trying to decide what to order.

"Rumors for the most part, scuttlebutt about who was doing what and where." Including the location of several Neovirals, which Annabelle does not intend to mention to Enzo.

If Enzo went out looking for them....well, she suspects that Dot would have her guts for garters.

"Oh, really."

She doesn't have to mention it. He was there when she got the file folder, and he knows darn well how Dot would react.

Crash it, how's a cadet supposed to get any practice?

A vidwindow materializes right over the middle of the table. "Cadet? Sorry to interrupt your breakfast. We picked up a Game approaching. G-Prime, sector 25. Thought you'd like to know."

Enzo tries not to cough his breakfast onto the window, and wishes they wouldn't tell him quite so indulgently.

He manages a salute, though. "Roger. I'll be there by the time it's down."

"That was...interesting," Annabelle says, taking one last sip of her Java. "Is that pretty typical of communications around here?"

"Yeah, we've got a really good early-warning system," Enzo says a touch over-loudly, and then murmurs, "Vidwindows. They're like phones, for us."

That was why Annabelle was deliberately vague. "I haven't heard of anything like it in other systems this size," Annabelle replies, also just a touch louder than usual. Technically, since Mainframe is the only system Annabelle has ever heard of other than the Supercomputer, this is not a lie.

She attempts to communicate by facial expression that she understands Enzo's explanation. "We should see if anyone needs a hand over there," Annabelle suggests with a grin.

Enzo raises an eyebrow. "You sure? It's..."

Then he realizes that there's no way he could complete that sentence ('dangerous', 'not your system') that would make a byte of difference to her, and shuts up.

"Very sure," Annabelle replies with a grin. This is the sort of thing that Annabelle did even before it literally became her purpose for being.

Annabelle is a Hero format, you'd have to bodily restrain her to keep her away from that kind of trouble.

Enzo grins back. Can't argue with that!

"Can we have the check?" he calls to the waitress. "And a couple of boxes?"
