Annabelle comes back upstairs after yet another trip to Ellen's world.

At least she's not completely coated in blood this time? The armor, sans helmet is rather thoroughly spattered with things best left unmentioned though. That tends to happen, especially when your targets' heads explode.

She's not expecting company, thanks to a lifetime of being largely...unattached.

Well, so it i a surprise to find a Connor deep asleep in her bed?

Their bed.

A bit, but only for an instant. Annabelle smiles at the sight, and moves quietly to take off her gear and clean her weapons.

He may or may not wake up when he hears water running.

Actually, he will wake up from her presence in a bit: tired or not, he can sense her. "Annabelle?" Connor slips out of bed in boxers and a tank top, going looking for her.

The armor and weapons that weren't there when he went to sleep should give him an idea of where she's been.

It won't take long to find her, as she's just washing her face in the bathroom. "I didn't mean to wake you," she says with an apologetic smile.

And the condition of the armor makes him worry. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," she reassures him, "not even a scratch."

Connor is more reassured by drawing her into his arms. "I missed you." Any grime be damned, he wants to feel his girlfriend close.

Thankfully, most of the grime was on the armor, which she's no longer wearing.

It's wonderful, feeling him close like this. Her kiss is a silent apology for her absence.

Apology accepted, and the returns kiss conveys that and still, how much she was missed.

Connor worried, of course.

But she is back, so all is well.

The fact that he missed her so is flattering, although she has no desire for him to feel bad, to hurt.

I'm hard to kill, she reassures him, continuing the kiss. It was a building falling on her that got her last time, not an enemy.

What power she has bends probability in a thousand tiny ways in her favor, after all.

"Hmm, maybe we both should take a shower and then find something to eat? Or if you are not hungry, we could just get to bed and cuddle." And he really means it: just cuddling is fine.

"I should definitely shower, at least," Annabelle says with a chuckle. Most of the grime is not the same as all of the grime.

"At least I didn't get completely drenched in blood this time. It took a damn long time to get all of that off."

"I can help. Make sure you get all of it off." For her benefit, not to just see her naked.

It's not like he hasn't seen her naked before by now, anyway. "I've no objection to that plan," she says with a smile.

"It saves time and water too," she adds with a mischievous grin. He's not the only one with potential ulterior motives.

"Oh, yes, that too." Saving water is very important.

So, bathing together, toweling off together, getting dressed together?

Or not getting dressed if Annabelle is not hungry, there are so many things a couple in love can do without having to wear clothes.

Annabelle isn't particularly hungry, so there's no pressing need to get dressed.

Most of her scars are fine white marks across tanned skin, save for the one that shows where metal went through her heart and out her back and ended her life.

He does not mind the scars.

Not the least bit, and will make sure to remind her of that, in words and actions.

Those words and actions will be returned with love and gentle passion.

Some time later, she holds him close. Her body curled around his as if to protect something fragile and precious.

Funny.

He is doing about the same. "Love you."

"Love you too," she says with a bright smile. One hand caresses his face.

He strokes Annabelle's hair and neck, cupping her cheek finally to steal a brief kiss. "You know, Karl and Kirk would never leave me alone of they knew."

"Knew what? About me?" she asks.

"They think I am completely incapable of attracting the interest of any girl." He strokes her hair again.

Annabelle snorts in disbelief. "Possibly part of the reason they're both single," she drawls with a wry smile.

"I could help you prove otherwise," she suggests with a mischievous grin. "If you think their poor minds could take the blow."

"Well, we could just wait until Karl took off his tinfoil hat and start broadcasting things to him?" Of course he is joking.

Annabelle giggles. "I suspect he already gets enough trauma that way," she says with a grin.

He nods, moving a bit so Annabelle rests more over him. "Sirkka enjoys a bit too much broadcasting her exploits with her harem."

She doesn't mind resting more on him in the least, rather the opposite. The feel of his heartbeat is reassuring.

"I'd gathered that impression," Annabelle says with a smile. "It sounds like she has far too much time on her hands."

"I think she has far too much plan... maybe thinking about repopulating the world, if we can convince people to stop killing each other?" Oh yes, open relationships and genetic diversity.

"But she does not seem to want to talk beyond mental health. Beyond comforting people."

"Comfort is necessary, but unless you chance the circumstances they're living in, they'll keep killing each other."

Sad, but true.

"Well, we can not undo the Crash, so... we have to move on, and create something new."

"In a world that is even more water than earth than the regular Earths."

Annabelle nods in agreement.

"It will be tricky, but you might find someone here who knows about that sort of thing."

"We are already inventing some parts of it." He caresses Annabelle's neck, smiling. "The hard part is the 'stop killing each other, morons'."

Annabelle grins at that. "That's always been the hardest part in my experience too."

Some things are multiversal, it seems.

He nods, idly caressing her neck. "It would be bad if we made a trip downstairs for food and drinks, then spent the rest of the day in bed cuddling and talking?"

"Not bad at all," Annabelle says with a pleased hm. "That sounds like an excellent plan to me."

"Of course, that means we need to get up, get dressed..." And really, that would be a terrible chore.

"Unfortunately," Annabelle says with a sigh. She's not making any attempt at moving, as she's very fond of where she is right now.

"I guess I could move us both out of bed, or..." His eyes light up with that purple glow. "At least I can gather our clothes." Floating clothes.

Time to find out if dressing each other is as fun as undressing?

Annabelle chuckles at the sight of the floating clothes. "Very handy," she says with a smile.

Probably not as much fun, but still entertaining.

And then they can go for that meal.

Cuddle on the couch, return to the room, the possibilities are many and Connor is just happy with spending time with his girlfriend.

Every possibility is precious and loved. Spending time with him is always a joy, no matter what they're doing.
