As they step through the door, Annabelle sees the Warehouse for the first time.
It looks....like a warehouse, which is a bit disappointing. At least, it does until you get a look at the motley collection of brick a brack on the shelves.
From somewhere not too far in the distance is a whirring whine of a large vacuum cleaner...

Date: 2010-07-20 12:47 am (UTC)There's no point in making her already-long chore list any worse than it needs to be.

Date: 2010-07-20 12:50 am (UTC)Sound carries strangely in here, and the rampaging vacuum is attempting to eat a tapestry of some kind several aisles over.

Date: 2010-07-20 12:54 am (UTC)Hopefully the tapestry nommage won't trigger anything nasty?

Date: 2010-07-20 01:00 am (UTC)Annabelle sneaks up behind the vacuum as it attempts to consume yet another inch of embroidery. She grabs it, but unfortunately, the tapestry decides to take umbrage at the vacuum's assault. There is a ripple of force as the vacuum and Annabelle are flung backwards, over a crate and into a neighboring aisle.
At least the vacuum is no longer trying to eat the tapestry?
There is considerable swearing in Polari from Annabelle, who's out of sight at the moment.

Date: 2010-07-20 01:09 am (UTC)The vacuum's still on the loose, but at least it's not tearing up Artifacts (at the moment), and it sounds like Annabelle's got things under control. So she makes sure the tapestry won't cause too many problems before heading off after the chaos.

Date: 2010-07-20 01:21 am (UTC)Elsewhere, Annabelle is wrangling the vacuum. "Come here you miserable little...." There's a brief scuffle in which something that looks an awful lot like a sheet falls partly over Annabelle's head. She finally finds the off switch, and stands up, brushing the sheet aside.
The sheet tumbles to the ground to reveal a very old, antique mirror that has yet to be moved to the Dark Vault.
Annabelle isn't among the living, no matter how alive she may seem, and she never belonged to this world. Both make her hold on this place weak, weak enough that the lingering energy the Mirror stole from Myka and the Disco Ball is sufficient to let Someone out....
There's a small flash of light and then utter silence. Possibly Claudia should go and see what happened?

Date: 2010-07-20 01:35 am (UTC)Alice is torn between the urge to cackle with glee and the urge to wring the red-headed nuisance's neck. She was so close to being free, and they ruined everything!
But now is not the time to tip them off. She mustn't waste this second chance at freedom. She can be patient, for a little while....

Date: 2010-07-20 01:40 am (UTC)Eventually, she'll realise that she probably would have been marginally safer letting the autovac nom on the tapestry until she got to Artie's office and back. But now is not that time.

Date: 2010-07-20 01:46 am (UTC)She has to hope that she'll be able to sneak back in and break the accursed thing before they move it into the Vault....
"After you," she says with a convincing smile. She doesn't know where "she" came from, after all.

Date: 2010-07-20 01:52 am (UTC)(If the reluctance on that first sentence rings any bells, it doesn't do so for very long - but then, she wasn't around for much of Alice's early performance as Myka.)
After Annabelle's back in Milliways, Claudia grabs herself a drink to go. She might as well see what the damage is on the autovac while it's off.
